I am a huge fan of smoothies, especially in the summertime. There's nothing like a fruit-filled, icy and delicious smoothie to add fun to your day.
A daily smoothie can be so nutritious and add a little extra to your day. I highly recommend these fun ingredients to liven up your smoothie:
1. Protein powder
For the past fifteen years, I have loved adding vegan protein powders to my smoothies. I recommend a low sugar and low calorie powder.
2. Cocoa nibs
Go for the organic nibs! They are full of potassium and magnesium. And, they add sugar that has a low-glycemic index- meaning that it doesn't affect your body as much as other sugars do.
3. Maca Powder
This powder is dehydrated from the maca plant, which is from South and Central America. It is high in nutrients. It is said to balance our hormones and increase energy levels. Add a teaspoon to your smoothie and enjoy!
